Travel Challenge: The Minimalist Escape on a Minimal Budget

June 22, 2010 Travel Challenge

Can you recommend a minimalist style hotel that doesn’t cost the earth? We want to stay somewhere hot, near the sea and not too far away. In the past, we have rented a villa in Ibiza with friends but this is our first holiday as a couple and we’re on a budget this time. We’ve looked at properties in Cyprus and the Greek Islands but they are way too expensive – Anon.

You don’t mention a budget but hopefully, the Hllside Su will be in your price range. Overlooking the pristine beach at Konyaatli  on the Turkish Riviera, this is a unique holiday hideaway. You’ll know you’ve found somewhere special to stay when you check in beneath the whirling disco balls in the lobby. The rooms are all white, pared-down chic; the perfect place to cool off after a day in the scorching sun. Outside, take a dip in the large pool and listen to the underwater music. For more water fun, head to neighbouring Aqualand with its dizzying chutes and super fast flumes. Relax back at the Hillside Su with world-class spa treatments. The food here is excellent, with seafood, Italian and sushi outlets as well as the main buffet restaurants. In the evening, enjoy music in the stylish bar or watch a film in the al fresco cinema. You’re only about a mile from Antalya city centre so if you can drag yourself away from the comfort of your beach beanbag, go and do some sightseeing and shopping. Holidays in Antalya offer the perfect combination of beachside lazing and exploration in the pretty Old Town. The Hillside Su gives maximum minimalism and because it’s in Turkey, which is outside of the Euro zone, it’s affordable too.

Hays Travel have seven nights bed and breakfast at the Hillside Su from £589 per person*, based on two sharing a garden view room, departing Manchester on 31st August 2010. Click here or call 0800 408 4131 for more information.

*Price is correct at the time of blogging but subject to availability and change. This price includes return flights, taxes, accommodation with breakfast and resort transfers. In-flight meals are an optional extra at £15 per passenger return.
